Roads all clear at the moment, no need for chains at all. Snow is forecast for Sunday though, and it's always best to have chains in the car just in case.

I'm driving up from Barcelona on Saturday and having read the reports there's LOADs of snow in Pas which is great. Can anyone tell me if the locals are keeping up and keeping the snow off the roads or are chains necessary? (I have a 4 x 4 so may be ok anyway).

Yes, loads of snow at the moment but the main roads are clear although it's forecast snow for the next four days with Saturday being the heaviest.

Highly recommended to carry chains with you, as when it comes down heavily the roads do get bad even though they are cleared fairly quickly. Also, the police will set road blocks when the roads are bad and only allow you to pass if you have snow tyres or chains.

The small roads in Pas still have snow on them and don't get cleared very quickly. Also, take care where you park in Pas whilst there's lots of snow as it drops from roofs and can do a lot of damage to parked cars!
