    • Easiest - hardest Red runs Pas de la casa / soldeu

This will be are 3rd time to Pas de la casa but yet to do a full red run

We are looking for a few easier red runs to break us in, what are the Easiest - hardest Red runs Pas de la casa / soldeu.

And out of the 3 red runs leading into PAS which one is the easiest..We had a look at DirectaI/II on our first trip when we were snowploughers and it looked quite steep quite busy and lots of lumps of snow/ice
    • Hi Nyck,

I would say most of the reds in Pas are fairly similar, they are a bit steeper at the top (and the snow can often be a bit cut up as everyone enters the slopes in the same place) however once you have got over the first bit at the top they do get easier as you progress down into the village and the slopes pan out somewhat so there is a bigger area for everyone to ski on as you go further down. Just take it easy at the top (and stick to the sides of the piste if you want to stay out of everyone elses way) and you will find it easier as you move down.

Alternatively, there are some lovely easier reds over the far side of Grau Roig near the Llac Del Cubil area (as you ski towards Soldeu) and this area also tends to be much quieter as most people just see it as a link between the two areas, you will probably find this area much easier going for you. Cami de Pessons is a very easy going red (also in Grau Roig) it is a little narrow in places but a very gentle gradient.

      Hope this helps.

      Emma :D
    • Just youtube'd Cami de pessons and looks like something we should be able to handle ??? Also looked a llac and Gavatxa ,Gavatxa looked kind of steep but wide and Llac look narrow which one to try first

We drove to El tartar last year but i would like to ski there and back from Pas this March..We can ski there on blue runs , but reds on the way back.Which route/runs would be are easiest way back from soldeu back to Pas

      thanks nyck
    • To ski back from El Tarter this is the easiest route I could tell you to go for.....
Up the Toss Espiolets chair, then ski straight over slightly to the left to join the os blue run, you can then cut across and ski down to Solanelles chair lift. It quite easy and only a short run really.
When you come off Solanelles chair head off on the blue but stay to the right and you will join diagonal df'enllac blue that is a track that take you off around the mountain slightly and finishes on a red at Llac del cubil chair, again not a tricky red a nice wide one that finishes on a long flat anyway.
You then can take the Cami de pessons which only steep parts are in the beginning and the end. The middle part is a nice flat pretty track that passes the pessons restaurant which is a great stop off coffee point.
Take the Pic blanc chair up from Grau and take the Llac red run, this is a really varied run with steep and flat parts, narrow points and then finishes on the flexta blue run.

This is a lot of information and direction to take in especially when you are not there looking at the slopes being mentioned but I hope it help.

      Have a great time
    • We got back late tuesday and had a great time ...

We tried Directa at the very top at the end of day 1 which was a bit of a mistake.lots of moguls on the first half and not a good slope to try for your first ever Red.
The next day we skied to El tar tar and tried a few reds in between there and back and the bottom half of blacks at Mirador & Aliga .Both times we skied back to Pas we went Via Gavatxa/Port

      thanks Again for the advice

      Where to try next year??
